WDP’s ground-breaking Capital Card® has won the Digital Innovation of the Year category at the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2018.
The Capital Card is a home-grown, cutting-edge reward card scheme for service users, families and carers of WDP services. It rewards and incentivises their engagement through a simple earn-spend points system. Service users can earn points by attending appointments or engaging in treatment interventions, and then spend these points on fun activities such as the cinema or gym – helping them to bolster their recovery journey and also reconnect with their local community.
Created by our Joint CEO, Manish Nanda, the scheme was launched in the London Borough of Hackney and has been up and running for more than 12 months. It has since been rolled out in the City of London, Barnet, Harrow and Havering, and is being launched in Barking and Dagenham, Brent, Cheshire West and Chester, and Redbridge in the coming months.
Yasmin Batliwala, Chair of WDP, commented: “I am absolutely delighted and very proud that our Capital Card has been recognised by this prestigious award body. This was a hotly-contested category and we are honoured to be chosen ahead of the other extremely innovative finalists.
“This win is truly a testament to the cutting-edge technology that we are continuously developing as well as the incredible hard work and passion of our Capital Card team. It also clearly demonstrates that our service users are at the very heart of all we do.
“A huge thank you and congratulations to all our staff, volunteers and spend partners who have helped make the Capital Card such a success!”
