Brent DIP

WDP Brent provides support for people who come through the criminal justice system and are experiencing problems with drugs and/or alcohol

Services available include:

  • Arrest Referral Service
  • Integrated Offender Management (IOM)
  • Restrictions on Bail (RoB)
  • Alcohol screening and assessment
  • Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) assessments
  • Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) assessments
  • Brief and structured interventions for alcohol users (including initial and more extended interventions)
  • Brief and structured interventions for drug users
  • Dual Diagnosis Intervention for individuals with both mental health and substance misuse problems
  • Reducing Reoffending Group Programme
  • Families Intervention and support 
  • Prison, Probation and Court Link Work
  • Throughcare and Aftercare
  • Ad hoc courses such as NOVA, WDP and OCN accredited peer mentoring programmes (supporting progress into education, training and employment)

How to access the service

Service users can access the service through the following routes:

  • Self-referral
  • Prison referral via CARATs
  • Arrest referral service in Wembley custody suite
  • Via courts as part of Restrictions on Bail or for an assessment for treatment as part of a community sentence


WDP Brent works in partnership with Brent Council, as well as our local partner substance misuse agencies in the borough, police, probation and prison services.
