North Westminster

The North Westminster Drug and Alcohol Service (NWDAS) offers individuals and families who are affected by drug and alcohol problems a free and confidential service from its bases at Harrow Road.

The integrated service is delivered by WDP in partnership with Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) and Foundation66. The team includes doctors, nurses, substance misuse workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health specialists, social workers, family workers/therapists and complementary health therapists as well as volunteers and peer advocates.

Services available at the North Westminster Drug and Alcohol Service

The first point of contact is the main Neighbourhood Centre based at 474 Harrow Road. Services include:

  • Information, advice, support, assessment and drop-in
  • One-to-one key working
  • Needle exchange and harm reduction services
  • Substitute prescribing
  • Specialist services for alcohol and crack users
  • Group work and day programme
  • Complementary therapies
  • Access to detox and rehab
  • Legal, debt and housing advice
  • Specialist women’s services

How to access the service

Who is the service for?

The service is for Westminster residents aged 18 or over who live north of Oxford Street. We also support people affected by a loved one's substance misuse.

How can I be referred to NWDAS?

Any professional like a doctor or social worker can also make the referral on behalf of the individual who seeks advice and help.

If you would like to refer yourself without going through a GP, social worker or other professional, please complete the online form and someone from NWDAS will be in touch.

Other services in the borough

Residents aged 18 or over from the south of Westminster borough can access the South Westminster Drug and Alcohol Service which is provided by Turning Point.

Anyone under 18 who would like support for their drug or alcohol use should contact South Westminster Drug and Alcohol Service provided by Turning Point on 0207 233 3553.

Our opening hours at this centre are Monday to Friday from 9.30am-5.30pm. We offer late openings on Mondays until 9pm. As part of our late service, we take bookings for needle exchange, advice, information and assessments by appointment only and also provide a confidential drop-in advice service.
