BME Outreach Practitioner - Brent
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic BME Outreach practitioner to join us in our team in Brent. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finding creative ways of engaging with the BME community. You should be able to raise awareness of substance misuse among this community, and encourage them to either utilise the harm reduction techniques or engage with the treatment service.
The BME Outreach Practitioner will work closely with local mosques and community centres to achieve this and reduce the stigma surrounding substance misuse within these communities. The individual will take a flexible approach to their work, be creative, have excellent communication skills and have a deep understanding of the BME community in terms of their culture and religious values.
The post holder must be committed, resourceful and highly motivated to engage service users within treatment services and promote recovery through their daily practice.

2. In partnership – you will be a team player and liaise effectively with other WDP staff and partner organisations
3. Strong belief in service users – you will be ambitious for those we help and this will come across strongly in your practice with service users
4. Community focussed – you will provide and shape services that serve the whole community
