Capital Card is shortlisted by Charity Times Awards and Third Sector Awards

We are extremely excited to announce that our innovative Capital Card® scheme has been shortlisted by two prestigious charity award bodies, namely:

  • Best Use of Technology category at the Charity Times Awards 2018
  • Digital Innovation of the Year category at the Third Sector Awards 2018

The Capital Card is a cutting-edge reward card scheme for service users, families and carers of WDP services.  It rewards and incentivises their engagement through a simple earn-spend points system.  Our service users can earn points by attending appointments or engaging in treatment interventions, and then spend these points on fun activities such as the cinema or gym – helping them to bolster their recovery journey and also reconnect with their local community.

The scheme was launched in the London Borough of Hackney and has been up and running for more than 12 months.  It has since been rolled out in the City of London, Barnet, Harrow and Havering, and will be launched in Barking and Dagenham, Brent and Redbridge in the coming months.

Yasmin Batliwala, Chair of WDP, commented: “I am delighted to hear this great news. Being shortlisted for not one, but two, sought-after awards goes to show what an innovative scheme this is: especially as it has been recognised by such highly-regarded award bodies.  It is a testament to the cutting edge technology that is continuously being developed and that is enabling us to lead the way in service user involvement across our services. It clearly demonstrates that the users of our services are at the very heart of all we do. Congratulations to all our hard-working Capital Card team!”
