We would like to offer reassurance that our services are working tirelessly to find creative solutions to continue to offer you treatment and care.
In an ever-changing situation, we want to make sure we continue to talk with you and work with you even if coming into services isn’t possible for you.
We will continue to support you via:
- 1-2-1 sessions - these can be done via phone call or Skype/Zoom (where possible)
- Group work - teleconferencing/Zoom (where possible)
- By providing your OST prescription
We have plans in place to ensure that there is no interruption to your prescribing as this situation continues. You will continue to be supported by doctors, nurses and keyworkers within our services, so please discuss any concerns you have with us.

‘Self-isolating’, ‘social distancing’ and staying away from crowds does not mean that you cannot keep in touch in many other ways, including by phone, Skype, email and various other online chat services. We will still be here to talk with you about any concerns you might have and to help support you as best we can.
We encourage you to also stay in touch with those around you who support you in your recovery. Whether this is a peer, friend, family member, sponsor, online forum or keyworker.
If you have coronavirus symptoms
If you're registered with one of our services and develop symptoms of coronavirus, please don’t come into the service but do contact us
to let us know so we can plan how to support you.
Coronavirus symptoms include:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
If you have these symptoms, the government advice is to stay at home for seven days.
Keeping yourself safe
Big nights out and regular use of many drugs can suppress your immune system and make you increasingly vulnerable to infections, so this might be good time to cut back.
In addition to regular hand-washing, here are a few other common-sense tips:
- Try to avoid sharing joints, pipes, straws, etc
- Try to avoid sharing / passing your stash bags
- Try to avoid touching your face / eyes with your hands when smoking / snorting
- Wash using / preparation surfaces
- Avoid parties / big sessions if you feel unwell (cough / fever)
