Street support for rough sleepers aged 18+ who are experiencing substance misuse issues in Camden

Our expert outreach service provides wrap-around intensive support across the borough to those people currently living in COVID emergency accommodation or who are rough sleeping.

Our team includes:

  • Drug and alcohol outreach workers who will build relationships with street active individuals.
  • A specialist women’s outreach worker who will work with women with additional support vulnerabilities including experiencing domestic abuse or being involved in sex working.
  • A dual diagnosis coordinator who will work with those experiencing both complex mental health and substance misuse problems.
  • A nurse who will provide healthcare access for rough sleepers, including GP registration, BBV testing/treatment, and urgent healthcare.
  • A clinical lead who will deliver rapid prescribing and opiate treatment support.

    • Advice and information around health and wellbeing
    • Strength- based assessments of needs
    • Harm reduction advice and support including Naloxone provision
    • One-to-one support with an allocated keyworker
    • Drop-in sessions at local community venues
    • Prescribing for those who require access to opiate treatment
    • Referrals into a range of different support groups
    • Looking ahead: helping service users to engage with healthcare and substance misuse services and get access to housing support.

    Due to the coronavirus pandemic and ‘social distancing’ guidance issued by the government, we have needed to adapt some of the face-to-face support that we provide so we can keep our service users and staff safe.
