The Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of our innovative Recovery in Action (RIA) team delivering aftercare provisions across WDP. The Volunteer Coordinator is a key member of the RIA team, working in partnership to deliver an effective, integrated and customer-focused service to WDP’s combined workforce of volunteers across existing and new services.

The Role

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of recruitment and management of volunteers across WDP. Leading on advertising, safer recruitment checks, policies, guidance, ensuring supervisors are supported to support volunteers and providing a core and mandatory training function to volunteers. WDP place great value in our volunteers; roles include recovery practitioners, peer mentors, Capital Card ambassadors, complementary therapists, trainee counsellors and psychologists. 

You will lead and ensure our organisational framework is adhered to and deliver key training sessions to enhance learning and development opportunities, as well as develop best practices to increase effectiveness and efficiencies within this role.  You will have the passion and commitment to ensure improved recovery outcomes for our service users, an ability to network and create partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders and partners to increase recruitment, whilst also delivering value for money services that meet and exceed the needs of our commissioners and funders.   • Salary band of £25,000 - £32,000 (pro rata) per annum
  • Permanent contract
  • 30 hours per week


The job will be based across our WDP Services (including Redbridge Office near Ilford and WDP Head Office near St James Park)
